>>ROCK CLIMBING IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY

TEEN ROCK CLIMBING ADVENTURE> JULY 21-26

Ages 12-16 Cost $375

Youth ages 12-16 can learn the basics and a lot more about rock climbing, climbing equipment and themselves. In addition to the ropes course and climbing wall at camp, we will spend full days climbing at local climbing areas, and spending some of our down time relaxing on San Diego’s local beaches. Cost: $440 Bus transportation to and from Camp is available.

TEEN ROCK CLIMBING ADVENTURE> AUGUST 3-8
Ages 12-16 Cost $375

For six days, youth ages 12-16 can learn the basics and a lot more about rock climbing, climbing equipment and themselves. In addition to the ropes course and climbing wall at camp, campers will get to experience a mixture of coastal and mountain, traditional and sport, beginner and moderate climbing from the San Diego Mountains to Malibu.

AND THE SAN GORGONIO WILDERNESS

SAN GORGONIO SUMMIT TRIP> JULY 6-11
Ages 13-16 Cost $350

The San Gorgonio Wilderness’s 58,969 acres include small lakes, meadows, streams, one hundred miles of trail, densely forested northern slopes, and rugged terrain. This beautiful area inside the San Bernardino National Forest has terrain that ranges from 4,400 feet to 11,499 atop namesake Mt. San Gorgonio. Teens ages 13-16 of all skill levels will enjoy the opportunity to explore this area and learn useful backpacking and camping skills in a safe and fun community.

WHITE WATER RAFTING TRIP >JULY 13-17
Ages 12-18 Cost $520

We will head up to the Lower Kern River where we will be guided through Class II-IV rapids. Youth will have a blast working as a team to navigate the river and enjoy swimming, playing, and sleeping out under the stars. Bus/van transportation is available.

TEEN BACKPACKING BASICS JULY 27-AUGUST 1
Ages 13-17 Cost $350

This 6 day program will introduce participants to the basic skills of backpacking. Topics will include clothing, use and maintenance of equipment, packing and carrying gear, map and compass, food planning and preparation and low impact camping. Since this new program is primarily intended for beginners, each day’s hike will be relatively short. The trip will begin on Sunday as we pick up participants on the way to the eastern Sierra. We will hike into the Sierra on Monday afternoon, and hike out and return to the pickup point on Friday. Cost includes van transportation.

TEEN BACKPACKING TREK > AUGUST 10-20

Ages 14-18 Cost $470

This 10-day trek through the Eastern Sierras with other 14 -18 year olds will be spent exploring the forests, meadows, lakes, and streams of the most beautiful and varied high country in the Sierra. The group will learn to work as a team by practicing group decision-making skills and sharing community tasks like cooking and clean-up. The hikes will be aggressive to move us to new places, and then we will set up camp and explore the area. There will be opportunities to climb peaks, take day hikes, swim in the lakes, keep a journal, explore streams, cook meals, plan evening discussions, and share experiences. We return on the 20th renewed from our wilderness experience. . Cost includes round-trip transportation from Camp Stevens with a drop off in Corona and Escondido on return.
