Wilderness Trip Leader

Camp Stevens is seeking 2 Wilderness Trip Leaders. This is an opportunity for an organized leader who enjoys working with people in a wilderness setting to teach basic wilderness skills, and lead in a creative and supportive atmosphere.

Responsibilities: Scheduling, planning, leading, and evaluation of 5 off-site trips, including backpacking in the Eastern Sierras, rock climbing in Southern California, and rafting the Kern River.

Position runs June 1-August 11, 2012.

Requirements: College degree or equivalent experience, 1-2 years wilderness trip leadership, experience staffing and planning week long backpacking trips, WFR, CPR, CA Class B license or willingness to obtain, clean driving record, ability to hike 10 miles a day carrying a 50 pound pack, ability to lead top rope climbing and anchor building, and be comfortable at heights up to 50 feet.
