IMG_6807At Camp Stevens we take great care to prepare delicious and nutritious meals for our guests and resident staff, carrying our respect for the Earth from our gardens into the kitchen and onto the table. We prefer to sit down together, family-style, in order to celebrate the bounty and to promote a community atmosphere.

A significant part of our environmental stewardship revolves around the camp kitchen. Our aim is to provide excellent alternatives to the typical processed camp style meals and to continue to satisfy all appetites, from the summer camper to the sophisticated palate. The types of food we serve, how they are prepared and stored, all affect the health of our bodies and our planet. Locally grown and organic produce are used as much as possible, often from our own farm and gardens.Vegetarian and vegan options are always available.

The Kitchen at Camp Stevens offers cooking workshops for groups of up to 10 guests. Our chef conducts weekend and one day hands-on classes to teach various techniques of preparing regional cuisines and canning and preserving local fruits and vegetables. Please check the Garden and Kitchen Workshops link for up to date information.
