Outdoor & Recreation Facilities

Archery is an exciting activity for adults and kids alike. Located at the heart of camp, the range is easily accessible for free time activities. 10 to 12 people will be the ideal group size. A trained instructor from the staff must be present when the archery range is in use.

Our pool is a great place to cool off in the spring and summer months. We can accommodate fifty swimmers at a time, with the supervision of trained lifeguards on staff.




outdoor-facilities-2Lawn and outdoor courts
The lawn area, located in the center of camp, provides a great gathering place and is large enough for games with up to 150 people. The volleyball and basketball court area is adjacent to the lawn and is open to all guests. Sports equipment is available.

Hiking trails wind gently through Camp Stevens’ beautiful woodlands and meadows. Both short and long self-guided hikes are available. Guided hikes can be prearranged.

 

 

 

 

 

Climbing Wall and Ropes Courses
Personal growth and adventure are key elements of the Climbing Wall and Challenge Course programs. The 40-foot climbing wall is available to all age groups, offering an introductory rock climbing experience. The Challenge Courses are available to participants 12 years old and up providing a safe yet challenging experience at heights no less than 20 feet. Both of these activities are supervised by trained, on-site staff. (Additional charges apply)

Designated campfire areas are available for marshmallow roasting, singing, storytelling, and much more. All campfires must be approved. Program assistance from the staff is also available upon request.

Camp can get your creative juices flowing. Guided art projects can be a part of the experience for all guests in our outdoor resource center.

 

 

 

Garden Tours
Come wander in our garden and learn about the ins and outs of plant-positive gardening. Our staff will take you on a tour of our 2-acre organic micro-farm and orchard.

Designed and built by renowned artist James Hubbell, our chapel is a sacred natural space for any group. Seating up to 120 people, it provides a place for meditation, worship, celebration, and performance.

 

 

Work Projects
Lend a hand during your stay at Camp Stevens. Projects range from garden projects and tree planting to brush clearing and wall building. Enthusiastic staff will plan a specialized project for your group, or you can come as an individual for one of our scheduled volunteer days.
